Green Chemistry and Innovations: A Path Towards a Sustainable Future

On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, representatives from industry, academia, and interested individuals gathered at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce to open a dialogue about the importance and potential of green chemistry in shaping a more sustainable future for the domestic economy.

The program included a presentation of the global green chemistry platform Green Chemistry for Sustainability, an initiative of the Responsible Business Hub of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, whose representative spoke about sustainable supply chains in industry. Also featured was a report from the ICT Hub organization on the potential of green technologies in Serbia.

A highlight was the premiere presentation of the call for the GreenUp Accelerator – a new support mechanism for the development of innovative green solutions, with applications having opened the previous week. The GreenUp Accelerator is a 12-week program designed for startups and teams developing innovations in areas such as green chemistry, green technology, green materials, sustainable agriculture, circular economy, energy efficiency, ESG & digital sustainability, sustainable transport, green building, decarbonization, and similar fields. The program includes mentorship, thematic workshops, access to a network of experts and potential investors, and preparation for and participation in a Demo Day.

Green chemistry is thus increasingly moving from the realm of academic discussion into the sphere of concrete industrial and innovative solutions.

Applications for the first cycle of the GreenUp Accelerator are open until July 15, 2025. Apply via the following link: https://globalgreenchem.acceleratorapp.co/application/new?program=greenup-accelerator-1st-cohort
