Plastic under scrutiny
The Cleaner Production Center of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy of the University of Belgrade, together with E-rreciklaža, the leading company in the field of recycling of electrical and electronic (EE) waste in Serbia, announces the second Green Hackathon as part of the UNIDO/YALE International Green Chemistry and Network Program.
The Green Hackathon is an event that brings together experts from different fields to develop innovative ideas and solutions for improving the environment and human health, through the application of the principles of green chemistry and sustainable practices. The goal of the hackathon is for teams to come up with creative and effective solutions for the safe removal or degradation of PBDEs and phthalates from plastic materials, in order to obtain harmless waste or recyclable material, while avoiding the incineration process. The Green Hackathon is just one in a series of steps that will contribute to the development of new innovative start-ups, ideas and solutions in the field of green chemistry and environmental protection of the Serbian market.
