Project description:
The Croatian Cleaner Production Centre in a consortium with Stenum and CPC Serbia carried out a resource efficiency project for IFC and PIK with three main tasks:
• Performing a detailed audit of resource efficiency (with a focus on energy and water) for all operations;
• Supporting the client in the development of a system for monitoring and managing resource efficiency;
• Preparing a draft of the RE action plan.
As a result of the project, PIK will significantly improve energy and water efficiency, reduce energy and water consumption per unit of production, as well as capital and operating costs of wastewater treatment plants.
Project task:
– Conduct a detailed revision of RE with a focus on material and energy efficiency with a special focus on water consumption and wastewater production
– Perform measurements on site in case of absence of some data
– Analysis of current water use practices
– Requirements of the analysis process for water quality
– Comparing company data with existing sectoral benchmarking data
– Identifying potential material savings, energy efficiency and water saving and reuse opportunities;
– Analysis of technical and financial aspects of identified options; – Provide support in the selection of suppliers if required by the client and discussion of technical specifications of options.
