The Center for Cleaner Production of Serbia was founded in 2007, within the framework of the United Nations Organization project for Industrial Development (UNIDO) "Establishment and operation of the Center for cleaner production in Serbia". Official inauguration Center was held on October 11, 2007 as part of the Sixth Ministerial Conference "Environment for Europe", held in Belgrade from October 10 to 12, 2007. The Center for Cleaner Production of Serbia operates within Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade. It is part of the UNIDO/UNEP network of Centers for Raw Materials efficiency and cleaner production (RECP Net). So far, he has helped implement the raw material efficiency methodology and cleaner production in over 200 companies in Serbia and trained more than 60 experts in cleaner production. Among companies that successfully applied the methodology with our help: Metalac, Knjaz Miloš, Imlek, Carnek, EPS, Zvezda-Helios, Bambi-Banat, Stark, Maxima, Sojaprotein, Tarkett, Umka, Unipromet, Delta Agrar Group, as well as, in within the framework of projects with local self-government, the cities of Pancevo and Čačak.
